My Favortie PostCards (Today Anyway)

My favorite PostCards are the ones I create flowers.

Big Flowers.

Little Flowers. Abstract Flowers.
Sale price: $35.00

Yellow, White, Purple or Checkerboard flowers.

Its doesnt matter. I just love flowers. Who could not adore all the colors you can find in one single petal?

Fabric PostCards -NO SEWING MACHINES ALLOWED!

Sometimes I just have to push my Janome back and turn her off. I NEED to do some handwork. There is just something about putting on my "cheater" glasses, threading the needle, pushing the needle into fabric and getting into that rhythm of stitching. All you applique people know exactly what I'm talking about?!

RUBBING ELBOWS WITH A QUILTING CELEBRITY

The first time I picked up a book by Pat Sloan... it tugged on my inner soul. I love her folksy art work and I HAD to buy this book. I have purchased many of her books and patterns though the years and have loved each one. I have been a member of her yahoo group and have called myself a "Sloanie." I had never met Pat Sloan but never the less, she feels like an old friend .
AND SHE GIVES GREAT HUGS TOO!

I MET PAT SLOAN

at the Rosemont Quilt Show!

I Bought Me a New Toy!

I spent the last 2 days at the quilt show in Rosemont IL. I love this quilt show. Its packed with beautiful art work. There are rows and rows of vendors. I always spend way too much money but this year... I went over the top.
I BOUGHT A MID ARM!
I am so excited and I dont think I can wait for it to be delivered. I can't wait to experiment on my art quilts with my new Janome 1600 and my Pinnacle table.
It wont be arriving for a week so I have time to clean up my studio and figure out just where I'm going to put it.
I WILL make it fit.... no matter what!

I name my sewing machines. How about you? I have a Janome named Betty Sue. My Janome embrodiering machine is lovingly called Freda. I better start thinking about a name for the new addition. Got any suggestions? Please let me know.

POSTCARD WORKSHOP aka BIRTHDAY PARTY!

A birthday girl had her party in my POSTCARD WORKSHOP.

She brought 4 of her friends, lots of treats to share and lots of laughter. What a fun birthday party at Quilter's Heaven in Northbrook Illinois.

A LOOK AT MY LATEST PIECES

I made this golf pic (15X20) for my sweetheart Dave. The pattern is from the Accidental Landscape books but the palm tree was tweaked just a little. I use peltex for the base and ironed the fabric around it. I wanted it to look more dimensional and the technic worked great. A fabric glue was used to attach it to the picture.Dave was a little upset that I placed his ball in the ruff.

My THREAD PAINTING CLASS

I teach at Quilter's Heaven in Northbrook, Illinios. One of my favorite classes to teach is THREAD PAINTING. The most rewarding words to hear coming from your students lips are "This is fun!" This is the latest wall hanging that was taught.and a picture of one of my students and her wonderful art piece.

It was a fun day teaching this class. I love to watch my student's faces when they discover that they too can do thread art. Usually the people that take my class are experts in piecing and they are reluctant to put the feed dogs down. But after a few minutes of practice, smiles are spreading across their faces. I love that look!

DO THEY LOOK HAPPY?

This is my son Jim with his baby girl, Rylan.

EASTER BLESSINGS

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

I WANT SPRING!

I can hardly wait for Spring to get here. I am not a winter person.
I love making flower art and thread painting fits it perfectly. Thread painting is a must for me. I don't think my postcards are quite done until I get free motion of some kind on it. Coneflowers are a favorite of mine, both in my garden outside and my flower garden on the wall of my Green Door Studio.

I WON A BLOG GIVE A WAY

You have to go check out Chris Wheelers Blog! I won her give a way for March and I was so pleased with her generosity. Chris and her hubby really out did themselves. My package included a great wood storage box that had a wonderful apple motif. She had that lunch box overly packed with goodies. There was even additives outside the box.
It was full of apple related gifts. I got a great knitted potholder and a pretty kitchen towel that had the knit top added.
I got many packs of apple cider, 10 fat quarter that were apple themed, apple oil to make my house smell yummy and loads more.
Please go visit Chris's Blog and sign up for her April give a way. You will see that I have signed up again.
